The collective La Dernière Heure explores the points of tension between the romantic, emotional, and sexual practices developing among younger generations. Discover this portrait of queer youth searching for their place amidst the traditional norms instilled in them, navigating a world on the brink of a dangerous shift.

THE LAST HOUR COLLECTIVE

Officially established as an association in 2025, the La Dernière Heure theatre collective, led by Joe Melki, brings together around ten students from several Parisian universities. Since 2022, they have been developing a theatrical practice that engages with socio-political issues drawn from current events. Their first show , Le soleil continuer de se lever (The Sun Will Continue to Rise ), explored the mechanisms of religious radicalization among some young homosexuals in wartime contexts.
Then came a second show , FRAICHE - A Revolutionary Fresco of Anti-Inflation, Corruption, Humiliation (and Explosions), evoking bank robberies in Lebanon perpetrated by customers affected by the economic crisis. The text of FRAICHE is published within the collection Prémices#4 by Domens. Last year, the collective staged Jean-Luc Lagarce's Juste la fin du monde (It's Only the End of the World) , seeking to explore the homophobia fueled by underlying social contempt. Aimons-nous? (Let's Love Each Other?) is their fourth creation.
