For twenty-five years the heart of Mains d'Œuvres has been beating, sometimes out of breath, often out of step.
May they piece together the fragments of a fractured world with tape and love.
Since 2001, we have been subjected to pressure tactics, budget cuts, and even a forced transplant.
We have been declared clinically dead several times — but the heart still beats.
That's because the collective heartbeat is tough.

This year, we're moving to open-heart surgery.
No anesthesia: we open, we observe, we repair, we sew.
Inside, we discover a joyful chaos of sounds, ideas, anger, and laughter.
The patient is alive. Very much alive. They are still dancing.
At Mains d'Œuvres, we have our hearts in our work, our hearts are tender, our hearts are festive, and sometimes our hearts are in pieces.
But never stone.
Above all, we have a collective heart, the one that beats stronger when everything else slows down. Because if the world is collapsing, it might as well be in rhythm.
