Propaganda | Exposition de Jenna Marvin
→ 06:00 PM
36 rue Jacques Louvel-Tessier - Paris
From December 4, 2025 to February 7, 2026, Transfo – Emmaüs Solidarité presents the first solo exhibition in France of the artist Jenna Marvin , a 26-year-old Russian performance artist revealed by the documentary film Queendom in 2023.
Under the title PROPAGANDA , this exhibition brings together a collection of photographs, videos, sculptures and installations stemming from the unique actionist approach she began in Russia.
Having been a refugee in France for 3 years, the frail, insolent and powerful soldier Jenna Marvin often falls in public but always gets up "without great damages" from her acts of militant revolt, if not flamboyant survival.
PROPAGANDA asserts itself as a radical queer counter-offensive in response to contemporary cis-heteronormative domination and patriarchal oppression.
This exhibition is associated with a program of 3 new performances by Jenna Marvin, the first of which will take place at the opening on Thursday, December 4 at 8 p.m., as well as a series of cultural events.
About the artist:
Born in 1999 in Magadan, Russia, Jenna Marvin is a performance artist, photographer, and sculptor living in Paris. Her work is rooted in the trash art and actionist movements.
After beginning her artistic career as a dancer and drag queen performer, her queer aesthetic has evolved between the worlds of art and fashion. Jenna Marvin is notably the subject of Agniia Galdanova's documentary Queendom (2023).
Visits:
Transfo offers educational and engaging tours of the exhibition. Developed with a lecturer from the National Museums, they are led by people supported by Emmaüs Solidarité and local volunteers, who are happy to welcome and guide the public.
