Coin Operated
The show “Coin Operated” by Jonas&Lander is scheduled as part of the Jogging Festival at Carreau du Temple on Thursday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 7 p.m.
“Coin Operated” is presented as a performance/installation designed for unconventional spaces, where the dialogue with the audience is direct and the continuity of the performance depends on the dynamics of this very dialogue. The shift from installation to performance occurs when an audience is invited to insert €1 coins into the slots of two horses on which Jonas and Lander sit in suffocating stillness. From the moment the connection between the horse and the coin is established, the installation gives way to the performance. With this project, Jonas & Lander propose a new approach to the role of the spectator, who becomes an active participant in the consequences and dynamics of the action, paving the way for an unexpected dialogue at each performance.
The public is invited to bring €1 coins to fully enjoy the experience!
