This piano/vocal cabaret show humorously and tenderly recounts Bili Bellegarde's childhood journey, shaped by Chérie FM radio, and how her dream came true through encounters and the art of cabaret. Dyke also explores her lesbianism and queer friendships through original compositions as well as covers of French pop and variety songs that are part of her early musical heritage.
This performance explores the vulnerability of being on stage, the power of speaking from the heart, and the act of self-narration as a gateway to sharing lived experiences with the audience. Speaking about one's experience as a minority allows for a representation of that experience and, consequently, a connection with others. Thus, struggles, the importance of community, and queer friendships are addressed with joy, hope, and determination.
Co-written by Bili Bellegarde and Mascare
Piano accompaniment by La Mulette
