Femmes et métamorphoses à travers la LSF : table ronde

Paris Events
Bibliothèque Saint-Eloi
23 rue du Colonel Rozanoff - Paris

The library invites you to a round table combining Nikesco's carte blanche "The superpower of the Deaf" and the French Language highlight on the theme "Women and metamorphoses".

We will discuss the power of metamorphosis and transformation of French Sign Language with our 3 guests: Nikesco , Catherine Zlatkovic and Anne-Charlotte Kaczmarek .

We will see how, through learning French Sign Language (LSF), deaf women gain power and manage to become free, activists, build their own identity, and express themselves on issues that are important to them. They can thus move from difficulty communicating and feeling like themselves to the possibility of expressing themselves and finding their professional or personal path.

We will notably discuss the experience of Catherine Zlatkovic and Anne-Charlotte Kaczmarek regarding public speaking competitions in French Sign Language.

Catherine Zlatkovic is an activist for racialized people, the deaf community for the recognition of LSF (French Sign Language), and the LGBT community: she identifies with the intersectionality of these identities.

Anne-Charlotte Kaczmarek is a clinical psychologist and committed Deaf feminist. She enjoys reflecting on social norms, advocating for accessibility… and reading books while snuggled up under a blanket!
