GOUINE CULTURE is a fledgling collective, created by lesbians seeking to unite all lesbians around lesbian culture to celebrate the diversity of our identities. Through our diverse events, we affirm an anti-fascist and anti-racist lesbian culture, and situate our parties within a framework of collective struggle and resistance. Join us for our first event on January 23rd at Le Hasard Ludique (8pm - 1:30am), which will begin with a panel discussion moderated by five people: “How to construct oneself as a racialized lesbian in a white queer world.” This will be followed by a concert by the band Crash Carnage, and two DJ sets by G!OVANIGHT and DJ ZINZINE.
Gwenn Santiago will be exhibiting her photos throughout the evening - and Elisa, our graphic designer, will be selling her Lesbian Monday posters.

GWENN SANTIAGO - (mini exhibition)
A queer photographer of color, born in Paris and of Filipino descent, they draw upon all their cultural influences, which have profoundly shaped their artistic journey and the identity of their work. Their photographic style is defined by a meticulous use of film, revealing a unique black and white universe in their images. Through these images, the photographer attempts to capture intimacy, both through the manipulation of light and through close interaction with their subjects. Their images explore gender and seek to represent queer identities with an archival intent, as if to capture a moment in life and represent their existence.
