A black and white story for a reinvented queer tale.

“The starting point for this one-man show was two years of preparatory classes in literature at the Lycée Henri IV. The project stems from an observation that was revealed to me during those two years: I grew up and dreamed in white. From Catherine Deneuve to Lady Gaga or even Rapunzel: everyone was white and straight, while I was Black and gay.” – Anthony Martine

This show, which takes the form of an Afro-queer medieval tale, aims to lead a reflection on the effects, repercussions, and alienation of being black and queer and of having spent one's childhood and adolescence dreaming dreams not made for oneself.
